LITTLE LIBRARY INSTALLATION
July 9, 2022
At 8 AM, Saturday the 9th, Wyatt Nicol, a member of Boy Scout Troop 810, arrived to complete his Eagle Scout project - the installation of the the Little Library that he designed and built. For those who don’t know, Little Libraries are a national program and are a wonderful community building asset by providing individuals the opportunity to take a book for free to read and the opportunity to share with others the books they have enjoyed. Wyatt’s Library is on the national Little Library register which helps people locate Little Libraries and to provide feedback when they see possible damage.
As part of his Eagle Scout project Wyatt conducted a book drive not only to provide the Library’s initial offering but also to ensure it will be full of books well into the future. He delivered 600 books for a wide variety of ages to the Center’s indoor library to replenish the Little Library outside as needed.
Saturday morning Wyatt also brought a dozen other members of Scout Troop 810 who while the Library was being installed, diligently cleaned the pine needles and cones from the parking lot also also cleaned the spaces in front of the Center’s Auditorium and Administration building. Their initiative is greatly appreciated.
