Martha Butler and Don Power hand playground donation check to Sandra Dales, Fenton Wilkinson and Vincent Gordon
Members of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church recently presented a check to the Southern Pines Land & Housing Trust in the amount of $3,605.
The gift is to be used to provide playground equipment for the Blanchie Carter Discovery Park. The park is a four-acre outdoor play and learning environment on the campus of the Southern Pines Center for African American History, Cultural Arts, and Business.
The gift represents one half of the amount raised by church members on “Giving Tuesday” which is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of individuals and organizations to transform their communities. The additional monies raised will be used for playground equipment on the campus of Brownson Church for its older children.
