PRE-K STEM EDUCATION GARDEN

Raised Bed Garden as Classroom

In keeping with Nature as a classroom theme of Blanchie Carter Discovery Park, the original raised bed garden is being rejuvenated as a Pre-K STEM education classroom. The garden's rebirth and curriculum development is being led by Kathy Byron. From the start, Kathy has been the Moore County pioneer in teaching gardens. She initiated interest in, designed and was responsible for creating the infrastructure for, plus developed and applied the curriculum used in all 14 school gardens for Moore County Schools.
