School Board Demonstration

May 10, 2021

The West Southern Pines residents and allies gathered for the May Board of Education Meeting with signs expressing their feelings about the Board selling the Primary School to the Trust. The BOE was reminded that the WSP Community already paid for and cleared 4 acres of the campus in 1924 above and beyond their taxes. The BOE has to this day neglected to acknowledge this feat, much less give any kudos for the extreme commitment to educating their kids the WSP Community demonstrated. The BOE was implored to do right things, and reminded that the campus is historic as it started as a Rosenwald School. The meeting was shared with those who had other agendas.
